Sorry that I haven`t posting much, school is stressful. But Maura and I are still training little courses for fun! tomorrow we may go to the dog park, so i`ll get pictures and try to post them! Bye for now!

Agility

It is with a heavy heart that I say that Maura and I are quitting agility. We will still be training almost every other day, but not competing or going to lessons. Its getting too hard to train enough to be able to compete. also I miss having Maura as just a pet.

Our neighbors gave us a dog statue for watching their house while they were away! It was a joke gift, but it still surprised us-and Maura. I think she thought it was a real dog!

Custom Art! (I know, not corgi related!)

On a happier subject, I am wanting to do custom art! (pets, animals and people!) It`s $5 for black and white, $7 for color. Here`s a sample of my art from a while ago-

This a color drawing I did in colored pencil, pencil and sharpie. "Jack" is the dog from the book Show Dog. Not the best photo, but it`s the best drawing I have a photo of!

Oh why must I have to go back to school? I have a lot of hard courses this year, so I may not be blogging as much. Also, I may not be uploading as many Youtube videos because of homework. I will work hard to be able to keep you guys updated!

Maura To The Max: Training Around Kitties

I told myself that if Maura is going to be an agility dog, she needs to be trained around very distracting things. So yesterday I took her to my neighbors backyard, where there are cats walking around all day. I was surprised at how well she responded. Maura saw the cats and even was 2 feet away from one and didn`t chase it. Here are some photos from the training day!

Maura`s First Competition!

Adios! I have to train now!

Well, the agility lesson (It was more of a friendly competition) was interesting. Maura didn`t get along magically with every dog, so I was pretty bummed about that and wanted to leave, but the trainer told me to stay. Also, Maura was barking up a storm, and the trainer showed me a way to keep her from barking. I`m so glad she told us to stay, because Maura ran one course pretty well, and I was proud of her. The second course was called "Impossible Tunnels", and let me tell you, it was CONFUSING. On the "Impossible Tunnel" course, Maura and I couldn`t figure it out, so I just ran her every which way- I think she had a lot of fun on the last course. She did zoomies like there was no tomorrow! It was a sucsess for her first time in a ring! I do have to train her with more distractions and work on obedience with her. But I`m proud of my little munchkin!

Maura will be competing in the fall! finally! My girl is doing great! We are probably going to do a competition at a small agility center. She will be jumping 8 inches in JWW! I cant wait! She is doing the waves and jumps excellently, paying attention and is speedy. I am going to a little practice course run next week (hopefully). We`ll do good I bet!

 Okay, back story here. I set up Maura`s kiddie pool and tried to get her used to it. I would put her in it, give her a treat and pet her. Then she would jump out. She didn`t like it. It`s weird, because any in-ground pool she will jump right into. I guess she just demands her own pool. So, I went inside to get towels to dry her off, but when I came back out...she looked like this. She was rolling in the dirt to try and dry off. When she saw me, she shook and loads of dirt came off her.

Helping Shelter Dogs by Blogging!

Pedigree Foundation

On another subject, I haven`t been able to blog much because I was vacation and Maura had to spend 5 days at the house with the cone on alone. But every day my neighbor would come over and feed her and play with her!

Tucker the Escape Artist

     Today my dad and I picked up this little guy. This is Tucker. Maura and I occasionally visit him. I recognized him at once and I caught him (after multiple attempts..) We called his owner and she was at work so we had to keep him for a few hours! He stayed in a pen in the front yard and was happy as could be. I don`t think he wanted to be out of his yard. He sort of collapsed onto me when I caught him. Maura was furious and barked her head off. I couldn`t pet both of them together because they didn`t get along. So I sat on the porch and just watched them. Tucker just stared at me and whined the whole time if I wasn`t petting him. Maura was just a brat and barked and paced. I took Tucker for a couple walks and gave him food and water. I got in the pen with him and he just rolled over and let me pet him for a long time! He`s such a calm and adorable dog!
